Back in 1998, I was reading some old Baptist magazines from the 1930’s. These articles spoke of evangelism across the USA. They stirred me to want to Cross the Country for Christ on horseback. I didn't realize the dangers in our world today in attempting to ride across the country. CCFC's goal is still to evangelize across the USA, but not on horseback. We will now use the internet, a variety of media's, including social media.
This trip will not include my beautiful Polish Arabian mare, KC Tanana, but she was great on the original ride and is retired in Virginia Beach. I think that horses are one of God’s most beautiful creatures and they were going to be a big part of the mission, but the new mission wont be about horses and horse people, but is about reaching as many people as I can with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, using any means available today. I see so many troubled and desperate people. They are men and women, rich and poor, young and old, and all are in need of the Lord.
People Need the Lord
Music is one of my other loves. I became a professional singer and entertainer in 1973. The band, Fools Gold, was a top 40 dance and show group. We played in Convention centers, Night clubs, Pubs, and bars from 1973 to 1975 in the mid western United States. My oldest son was born in November of 1975 and I quit doing music and began my full time career with the Kirby company. I spent the next 30 plus years working and raising my children. Now they are grown and raising their families. It is now time to take that musical background and use it for the promotion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible....
Vision
This is me today. I recorded Going Deeper with Hallelujah in December 2014 at Backwoods Studios in Nashville Tennessee. It is a contemporary Christian country rock song, with a bit of soul. It is also a great praise song for corporate worship. My friend David Michels wrote the lyrics and Veronica Ort and myself wrote the music. I plan to use the song to help in my vision to tell people from all walks of life about the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ! We never know when. “It will happen in the twinkling of an eye,” so there is little time to waste. I also plan to raise attention and monies for the 2 charities I have chosen. ALS, because my friend Josh Thompson acquired the disease. Juvenile Diabetes, because it has taken away a certain quality of life from my grandson Joshua and my daughter Meigan.
